Hi,
I have an alienware m14x, and was trying to get a 5.1 speaker set working.
I checked a couple of the forum topics here, but cant seem to get the answer i need.
Here s the issue: I have connected creative Inspire T6060 speakers to the laptop(5 speakers, 1 woofer).
I can only hear sound from the R and L speakers, the rest are silent. I checked the 5.1 surround option when configuring the speaker - the center, RR and RL speakers dont have any sound; neither does the woofer.
Now, I can get the RL, and RR speakers working
1) if I remove the R and L speakers (while having only Rear jack(black color) connected to a volume control/bass level control device from Creative); or
2) If I connect the rear jack(black color), center jack(orange color) and front jack(green color) - but then the R and L speakers fall silent, but even in this case the center speaker dont work.
Other info:
I have installed/updated the audio drivers from the Dell website - version 6.0.100.2033
I don't have any specific option under Control Panel to make audio changes(no Creative software installed i guess?)
I'm using Win 7 Ultimate, SP1
Hope the info helps, and that someone can help me fix this.. :)
