Hi Audio Forum,
I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 running Windows 8.1.Pro, upgraded to 4GB memory. The audio has totally stopped working. Including speakers and headphones. I'm not on mute, my volume is up, and my audio device _appears_ fine and enabled. The speaker audio device appears as "High Definition Audio Device" in Device Manager, with a Microsoft driver last update of 8/2013.
I realize this OS is officially unsupported on this 7-year old laptop.
Any idea how to get my sound back? It just disappeared about a week ago - I don't know if it was related to a Windows Update. No other S/W has been installed.
