Some background info. I have a Dell XPS L702X running Win7 and I upgrade my BIOS from A14 to A19 a while back. Just in the last week I had to re-format the HDD and installed the OS and drivers using the system disks. The system recovery USB stick I made previously did not work. My issue is with the Dell Realtek Drivers. As you can see from item 10a above, I tried to install the latest version (A05) but when I did so I lost the headphones in my Playback devices, it only listed the speaker. The mic also disappeared in Recording devices. When I uninstalled the A05 version and installed A04, I was able to select in the advance settings to use two different audio streams then the headphones and mic re-appeared. My problem is prior to having to reformat my HDD, I was using the A05 version and it seemed to automatically split the two audio streams as I had in my playback devices both the speaker and headset listed separately as well as the mic in the recording devices which is my ultimate goal.
I purchased Creative Soundblaster X-FI MB with my laptop. Unfortunately I did not receive the installation disk so I had to buy a newer version as I thought that might help with the issue. I purchased the Creative Soundblaster X-FI MB3 and tried installing that, but that did not help and also did not show as a tab in the Realtek console like the original version did. When I installed it and it’s audio drivers, it just created a separate speaker for Creative in my playback devices.
How can I get my Realtek Audio Driver to upgrade to A05 and work correctly with my SoundBlaster software and show the headphones/mic in the Playback/Recording devices. As I stated, this was working properly prior to reformatting my HDD and reinstalling everything. Please advise. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
