I have a sporadic chirp sound in my headphones (like a small bird was in there "pip" "pip". The noise occurs at all times on my windows partition (at all times meaning regardless of power configuration), and only when power is disconnected and running on battery when booted in linux. I have tried muting the internal mic, but that doesn't do anything (I heard it could be a feedback issue). I tried multiple sets of headphones, and it happened with all of them. At this point I assume something is wrong with the audio jack itself or the wiring leading up to it, but I have no idea where to start when approaching this issue. I am no laptop technician, but can wield a screwdriver and follow directions with the best of them.
Thank you
