Hello!
I just bought an inspiron 3537 notebook. It has a hybrid 3,5mm jack port. The problem is, that it's not recognizing the headset microphone at all under windows. It's a working, standard 3,5 headset (apple earpods with mic), and it's working under fedora linux. So it's a windows-driver issue, I'm sure.
For some reason, windows only recognize the built in mic, not the headset one. If I install the dell (realtek) driver, I can see the mic's levels and other stuff under control panel-> sound -> playback utility, but not at recording. At the recording tab I only got the built-in one.
I tried uninstall the dell driver, reboot, windows got his own driver installed, nothing changed. It's very annoying, because it's working under linux, but not with windows(8.1).
Any ideas?
Cheers
