Hi All,
I have a problem with my new Latitude 5420. Whenever playing audio via my headphones, I hear static noise (pretty much like white noise). The noise is not the crackling kind that results from bad insulation from harddrive signal, but rather a constant hissing. It is quite distinct until the power-saving kills the audio device altogether. Since the headphones are in-ear type and rather high-end, the noise is really unnerving (I listen to a lot of music that has really quiet parts) and gives me a headache after a couple of hours.
Did anyone manage to solve this problem? Do you think it may have something to do with a TRRS plug and shorting the mic channel (I have normal TRS plug on my headphones)? Note that I tried to cover the mic channel with a piece of paper up the jack port, but this did not help (I can't guarantee I did it right though).
Just to be clear - I recently switched from another notebook and this problem did not exist there. Audio was clear as ever.
Thanks in advance!
Greg.
