New Inspiron 15r - Headphones painfully loud

Unless I disable "speaker enhancement" in the Dell Audio window headphones are painfully loud on my laptop unless I set the volume to 2 within Windows. Manually. Every single time I plug in headphones. Which disabling speaker enhancement is fine, except the speakers on the laptop are far too quiet without it enabled, and I'm fed up with manually toggling it on/off every time I go from headphones to speakers. It's 2014, I shouldn't have to be manually doing something so trivial.

Due to the nature of this computer, I don't have an independent "headphone" volume slider when headphones are connected like I do on every other computer I've ever owned recently, I assume due to the drivers. The driver recognizes headphones are plugged in (and annoys me with that popup), but the software does not give an option to automatically disable "speaker enhancement" when plugging in headphones.

Anyone have a solution?
