I was going to play rocksmith on my PC by plugging in my guitar to the mic port, and I read that I had to go into the sound menu and disable anything that wasn't being used at the moment or it'd think there was more than one instrument plugged in. I did so, and when I restarted the only playback device was my monitor (my screen is broken so I have to plug it in my monitor through hdmi for now), and the only recording device was my kinect. I have an alienware m17x r3 running windows 64 bit. I tried a system restore and it didn't work. I also tried updating my IDT drivers and it won't let me install it and gives me the error, "The hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software package. The install will be aborted." and I got that from dell's website and I also tried a few others. Sound will only play through my speakers and my only mic is the kinect. My webcam, internal mic, and internal speakers are not there, and I also have show disabled devices enabled. Please help I'm at my wits end here... ^.^
