I hope someone can help!! This is a brand new problem I am having. I have no sound from speakers, but I can use headphone jack and have sound through the headphones. I've run all updates and as a matter of fact, I had a Dell alert telling me to update my sound driver, and was hopeful this would take care of it, but after running, no change. I have restarted my computer several times.
I saw someone else had a similar problem on their E1705, coincidentally on the same day as me, but said theirs worked plugging something into to the MIC jack. I tried that but still no sound. Any other suggestions? Could I have something turned off? I've checked my speaker volumes, none are muted. Is there anything that turns off speakers when you plug in a headphone that you have to turn back on again? This all started when my daughter used headphones on my laptop yesterday. I never use them and the speakers have always worked fine.
