I've tried to search for a solution to my problem:
I have a Latitude E6430 running Windows 7 and the Sound dialog from the Control Panel shows:

Clik here to view.
and the Device Manager dialog from the Control Panel shows:
Image may be NSFW.

Every time I boot my laptop, I have to follow this process:
- Select "Sound" from the Control Panel.
- Select "Speakers / Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC - Default Device)
- Select the Properties button.
- Select "Don't use this device (disable)"
- Select OK or Apply.
- Select "Device Manager" from the Control Panel.
- Select "Sound" from the "Device Manger" dialog.
- Right-click on "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC"
- Select "Disable".
- Select "Yes".
- Wait for the refresh (the "Sound" dialog shows: "No audio devices are installed").
- Right-click on "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC" (which now shows as disabled).
- Select "Enable" (at which point the "Sound" dialog shows the Speakers / Headphones... [but disabled]) tab in Playback.
- Select "Speakers / Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC - Default Device)
- Select the Properties button.
- Select "Use this device (enable)"
- Select OK or Apply.
- Audio is magically restored.
After this dance, it will still happen that my audio cuts out and I have to repeat the process. Several times a day.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Chris
