I beleive that the 3.5hardware is gone bad, to fix it do I have to change the motherboard. I read that the sound card is intgerated on to the motherboard.

Let me breief you in what had happened,  I have this eleectric tennis racket to kill mosquitoes, it fell on my headset which is open at few places due to wear ane tear for a long time. And the 3.5 stopped working that very moment,I think a small current/charge might have gone inside the 3.5mm jack and might have blown something off inside..my laptop works exceptionally well, speakers work well too.

I have no idea how to fix this hardware issue.

What are my options, I dont want to change thmotherboard as it would cost me a lot.

Would a usb souncard help.
