tried to hook up my used but new to me laptop to my pro audio system. I have a mini jack to dual rca splitter that I hooked up to my line converter which than goes into my mixer. my line converter converts -10 consumer to +4 balanced pro level. when I tried streaming spotify I had no sound at all but I had sound out of my speakers on the laptop when I disconnected it. I had everything hooked up and while I was diagnosing the issues all of a sudden I had a loud hum from my system and one of my crown xls602 had the fault light on. I quickly powered down my system and disconnected the laptop. I tried a different audio cable to the converter and same issue. my amp seems to be fried cause my fault light is on all the time. I thought my mini jack on the laptop was shorted but I tried a set of earbuds and they work fine. any suggestions?
