I have been having problems recently with lockups and crashes etc. I believe my hard drive was failing, so I bought a new one and cloned the dying one.
Laptop starts up up problem and runs fine apart from no audio. I have tried reinstalling the Dell System Software, then reboot, install the chipset drivers then reboot, then install the audio drivers and reboot. Still no audio.
Looking at device manager I have !! against the following: In-Built Conexant Type 2 Modem, WAN Miniport (IP), WAN Miniport (IPv6), WAN Miniport(Network Moitor) and the BIG problem High Definition Audio Device twice in Sound, video and game controllers.
Tried running the Dell diagnostics audio test but that program throws an error so no test possible.
Any ideas?
