My son's laptop is an Inspiron M531R and it has an issue with the combo headphone/mic jack that I can't seem to resolve. I have tried 2 different headphones, both of which work in another computer, and have the same result. We can hear audio over the headphones, but the microphone does not work. I do not even show it in the sound recording settings on the system. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the audio drivers from Dell's website with no luck. I even upgraded from the Windows 8.1 install to Windows 10 without any changes. Has anyone else come across this issue and know a resolution?
