so.. this "bug" has been around for a loooong time.
so, i have my laptop, a N5010 inspiron. and with it, the audio software, that is like, installed by default, is "IDT. audio control panel"
so, i would have my laptop on, and plugged in. and i would ahve my ipod, plugged in, two ways; 1.) via usb cable, for the charging. and 2.) audio cable, into the LINE IN jack on my laptop. with the settings enabled to "listen to this device" i get this odd little fuzz/feedback and it is constant.
the iPod is the iPod touch 4th generation-white, 32GB
and, well, when its off, i.e. lock button off/sleep, its hardly noticeable. but, if i click the lock button to wake it, it goes much louder. and it sounds like an actulator rod on a HDD.
i want to know why this happens? and if i unplug the usb cable, the fuzz stops. and i can hear the audio from my iPod.
the sound setting on my iPod does not change the loudness of the fuzz.
IDT settings:
yes "set as default recording device"
yes "set as default communication device"
microphone boost: 0dB. i have tried changing this and it does not change the iPod's fuzz.
input monitor:
listen to this device, playback through: "speakers/headphones"
and..i was just messing around with the controls.. could not figure it out.
anyway.. how can i fix this?
