Audio not working

Hello Dell Community,

In August I have purchased a Dell XPS 13 9333. I had no issue with it except the os (Win 8.1) which was not very good so I upgraded it to Win 10. A couple of weeks ago My audio started dropping out. While watching a video on YouTube, just out of the blue. The message board showed 'An audio device has been unplugged' and it stopped working. After this happened I have ran a driver update check, updated the audio, video and chipset drivers together with the BIOS. The issue stopped. However since then, the drops persisted. Reinstalling the Realtek audio drivers helped and sometimes a simple restart too. However today nothing helps. In sound settings, the Output devices are missing (not hidden/disabled). In the device Manager the Sound, Video and game category is hidden, update sais everything is up to date. After a consultation with my friend working in IT, he said it seems like if something was blocking the driver from installing. Also when I tried to run 'Dell audio' I got an error message about 'rtkngui64.reg' missing. The issue happens while headphones are plugged in and both built in and external speakers are mute. I get a red circle with a white cross in it at the speaker icon in the task bar.

I have tried everything from updating drivers to resetting the OS, nothing helped. Please help.
