Hello everyone. I really need help about recording audio. I have been searching quite long for some solution of my problem, googled it many times, but found nothing. So the problem is that i can't record sound. As we all know Dell Inspiron 3521 has only one jack (3.5mm) for headsets (with mics) and a webcam (with mic of course). I have Adobe Audition installed on my laptop and i want to record what i play on piano :) I bought a cable LIKE THIS so that i could record, but it didn't help. When i connect my headset to the cable it works fine and i can hear (green jack), but when i connect line in (red jack) laptops still continues to record with the webcam, even when i connect my headset's mic. I have no idea what to do. Once I accidentally connected line in and it worked, it was recording, but the recording quality was very bad, it was like i recorded with the webcam and not with cable (line in).
I'm using Windows 10, Adobe Audition CS6. (if it matters)
Is there any way to record audio on Inspiron 3521 by connecting line in and not a mic ? If yes, then how ?
Thanks very much.
