Firstly, yes, Windows 10 x64...on a Latitude D630. Believe it :)
Bios A17, 4GB RAM and it runs everything just fine.
The machine has previously run XP and Windows 7 Pro (for the last 4 years) flawlessly, but now I have Windows 10 installed and activated etc, the sound is very jittery. The sound was perfect on Windows 7, but on Windows 10 it's horrible. Other than the sound, everything else is fine.
By default Win 10 installs a High dev audio device, but I updated it with the Vista 64 driver:
SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major High Definition Audio Driver
R171788.exe
This didnt make much difference and the sound keeps breaking up with jitters no matter where the source is (youtube, VLC etc) as well as the fact that the sound does not play via the audio jack on the docking station (which did work on Windows 7)
I know this is an old machine, but it;s been pretty faithful and hard working. If sound problems can be resolved I'll considered it a victory!
Thanks all
