I have replaced a faulty hard drive, hence completely reinstalled windows.
The sound plays for a split second and cuts out. If you keep hitting the mute button you can make out the song being played. You hear it go click, like the driver just turned it off.
I have downloaded and installed all updates from the dell support area. The asset tag is<ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>, its an atom 1.5.
I have been on the realtek website and downloaded the drivers here for ac97 codecs etc but the installation hangs and keeps repeatedly saying windows cannot verify this driver do you want to continue.
The only notification I am getting in device manager is on bluetooth radio - it has latest driver but says its stopped because it reported problems,.
I had read in another thread that uninstalling conexant hd audio driver and restarting reolved this. Didnt eork.. Also that the chipset drivers must be installed before network and sound? I tried this and disabled windows automatically installing drivers .I went indevice manager and uninstalled all sound and video devces and then rebooting and pointing it to the dell downloads folder, still exact same issue.
Any help very welcome.
