Hello,
I've seen a few other posts about audio for the new XPS 13, but none exactly like mine. So, I just received the brand new computer last week, and noticed no issues for the first few days. The other day, though, I noticed that my audio was not working. Output devices were correctly listed, mute was off, everything looked to be function, just no sound at all. So I restarted my computer from the Start menu, and it seemed to fix the problem.
However, when I do a full power down and turn the system back on, the issue returns. I've also noticed that when the audio issue comes up, the computer in general struggles. Chrome keeps crashing, diagnostics stuff freezes and become unresponsive, etc. In general, the computer is pretty unusable. A simple restart solves everything, but I'd rather not have to turn my computer on, then restart it every time I power down.
I've tried just about everything. Updated all drivers, did a full system restore (a couple of times), ran the system detect tool thing on Dell's website (of course it says everything is functional when I resolve the issue by restarting, but when I run it when it is occuring, the program freezes and I have to force quite). I'm not sure where to go from here other than return the thing.
Anyone else ran in to this issue and found out a fix? Any help would be appreciated.
