When I click on the volume icon on the taskbar, no volume mixer shows up and if I try to change the settings from the control panel, everytime I click on the audio control settings, I get this error message " Application has failed to start because the side by side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command line sxtrace.exe for more detail". I can hear the volume and stuff but I need to use the Fn keys to control it. Also there are a few hours where it completely stops working and then starts working and I can listen to music, watch videos etc. I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for sound and it is still not working. I also performed a full system diagnostic and nothing came up. It said everything was fine. I also ran the command prompt as an admin with the command sfc/ scannow and all it did was go through the beginning phase of verification and that was 100% done and it said " the resource protection did not find any integrity violations". What do I need to do to fix this? Please help :/
