Apologies that my first ever post is an extremely techy one, but has anyone got any data to share about this issue?
I'm a geophysicist at Imperial College London, and we're looking to use the audio output on a Dell laptop to trigger a piece of seismic equipment. What we need is for the power of the audio output to be constant with frequency. Panasonic laptops apparently fit this bill, but (e.g.) GETAC field laptops do not - their output voltage varies significantly with frequency.
Does anyone out there have any idea whether a Dell laptop's emitted voltage is linear with frequency? I would be very grateful indeed for any thoughts or data!
