Hi,
I just got a new Inspiron 15 7548 the other day. I notice that there is an intermittent crackling/popping sound coming from the speakers. Almost sounds like a geiger counter. It seems to get worse when the computer is under load.
The strange thing is that I do not hear this under windows. I do hear it in the bios setup screen and under Ubuntu Linux. In Ubuntu Linux I am able to reduce the crackling somewhat by "unmuting" two sliders in alsamixer.
I've updated the BIOS to try to solve this (I actually already had the latest BIOS) so that didn't fix it.
Dell support I doubt would be any help. So, at this point I am thinking about returning the laptop as this is going to bug me. But I would love to know if they all do it, or if I just got a bad one. I don't want to waste time exchanging it for one that's going to do the same thing.
Anyone with a 2015 inspiton 15 7548 experiencing the same thing? E.g, When booting your computer, if you hit F2 to enter the BIOS setup and then listen really carefully is there any clicking or popping coming from the speakers?
Thanks
