Hi all!
I use Windows Vista 32 bit on E5500 and everything runs fine with the big exception of audio driver. I used the latest version for this laptop which is A15, no other versions are available on the downloads page. The driver is very unstable and locks up all the time. Pressing the sound buttons does not change the audio levels instantly as expected. There is a noticeable delay in volume control after I press the button. Some 4-5 or more seconds pass after I press Volume up or down before the press is registered. Very weird situation and nothing helped so I removed the Dell audio driver. I use the default Windows driver now and so far everything is ok.
Anyone else experienced weird behavior like this on the same laptop? Do you know where I can find an older audio driver for E5500 so I can test again?
Also the Dell system software-is it important about the audio system or not so much. I installed it after some recommendation in the audio FAQ here on the forum. Thanks for all tips!
