Hi!
So I just received my brand new Inspiron 7000 (17", model 7737). Everything is awesome except one thing :(
So the webcam itself is working (tested through both Skype and WIndows Movie Maker). However, I can't seem to capture any sound from the internal mic (there's got to be one, right?)
In the control panel, under SOUNDS -> RECORDING, I only have two devices:
- Microphone (Realtek High Definition Audio): The soundcard microphone (works if I plug an external mic in the 1/8 jack)
- Stereo Mix: An hidden stereo mixer (looks like it's also related to the sound card -- arguably for a line-in through the 1/8 jack).
There's absolutely NOTHING related the either the webcam or (as I've read from other threads/models) anything related to a "microphone array".
Edit: That is after making sure that "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" are checked :)
The device manager looks good -- there's no unknown or disabled device in there. It just looks like there is no internal mic at all.
Do I have a faulty hardware? I'm leaning toward that, but I want to make sure before I call it in (-.-);
I like to think of myself as fairly computer-literate, but I'm at my wits' ends here.
Thanks in advance for any assistance...
Edit: Added clarification regarding Disabled / Disconnected devices
