Loud Buzzing from External Speakers

New Inspiron 17 7779 2-in-1 with combined audio port and Waves MaxxAudio

Logitech Z130 powered external speakers.

I have noticed, if I have external speakers connected and playing music, the sound works fine except for the volume fading in and out.

But a situation has developed where if the music stops or I pause it or shutdown the player, the speakers will start producing a loud static type sound about 30% if the time.  It sounds like what might happen if a speaker was being plugged in but not yet completely seated.

Muting the sound does not cause this.

It is very annoying and means I cannot leave the system playing music if I go out of the room.

Since I have been checking the sound fading situation, I have the latest drivers.  When I plug the speakers in the popup appears and I select medium external speakers.  No problems with this part of the operation.

This could be related to just these particular speakers but I have no other wired external speakers to test.  Limited testing with headsets does not appear to exhibit the problem, but of course, they are not powered...

I am thinking, the utility which sets up the combined audio port for different devices is somehow loosing contact with the plugged in device and allowing those connections to be changed.  Resuming the music stops the noise immediately it does not reoccur during play.

If I am correct, this would appear to be a driver of whatever sets up the combined audio port..

Any thoughts?

E6430 internal speakers no sound but headphones OK

Never had any issue with sound before. Suddenly the speakers on E6430 don't work but headphones still do.  Booted using f12 key and it passed sound test.  Swapped boot drive from Win10 and inserted Win 7 drive with same results.  I guess the speakers are OK but the sense pin doesn't work. Software is up-to-date. So now what?

Dell Inspiron N7110 connected to TV via HDMI: screen works, sound only on PC

When I connect the Dell Inspiron N7110 with a HDMI cable to a Sony TV, screen shows but sound is played via the computer only. This is since Windows 10, with Windows 7 + 8 it had some quirks (we always had to switch off sound enhancements first to get it working, but it worked).

This is what I checked/tried:

Device manager: uninstalled both drivers at Audio -input and output, and also System Devices/High Definition Audio Controller, all is reinstalled after a reset

Display adapters: there are 2. Intel (R) HD Graphics 3000 and NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M. Removed the Intel driver, which is reinstalled after a reset.

Also tried to switch off each; switching off the Intel does not change anything; switching off the NVidia stops displaying the picture on the TV as well.

It does not matter if the display is on the TV only or stretched on laptop + TV (2 screens). I can however not duplicate the screen - this does not show anything on TV when chosen.

 One remarkable thing:

On starting the NVidia installation program, it DOES show correctly HDMI: SONY TV XV . You can then press a button from there which opens the Windows Sound configuration screen where it only shows the icon of the internal speakers (yes right mouse option Show Disabled devices and Show Disconnected devices are both checked).

The problem can not be the HDMI cable. I've connected several other brands of laptops and they all work. Basically, as soon as I connect the HDMI cable, the SONY TV icon appears as a sound device. With the Dell, it does not.

I've checked

en.community.dell.com/.../19543436 but that basically doesn't bring me further.

I suspect the presence of 2 graphic cards is the problem somehow although a HP I tried does also have both and there it works. I am currently out of options. What more can I do to get this working?

Dell Inspiron 15 volume button is (almost) useless

I just bought a 2016 Inspiron 15 touchscreen laptop one month ago.  However, the volume button on the side changes the volume on the display, yet when I have an application such as spotify or youtube opened up, the only way I can change the volume is by changing it on that application.  It is essentially like my computer is either at 100 volume or muted, yet the display reads all values in between.  If it is even on 2, it is essentially on max volume for the desktop.  If I have my volume enabled(not on mute), I can change it fine by moving the dial on spotify and so forth, but its an inconvenience especially when I'm currently doing a design project or homework and I need to turn down the music.  I've updated all my audio drivers and my laptop is up do date.  I have checked the volume settings and have seen nothing out of the ordinary.  Please let me know of any suggestions.  Thanks!

Can I connect my Dell XPS L322x to my bluetooth speakers? On windows 10

At the moment, I can connect to my speakers, but I don't see any option to play anything through them? With my current software and hardware, am I abe to do so? And if not, is there anything I can download so this is possible?

I read somewhere that I might have a 'bluetooth adaptor' but I cannot seem to find in my software any sign of this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello,

I am trying to use my laptop(DELL E7470) as a headset for my phone's audio.

I have a AC-8260 adapter with 19.10.2.1 driver version(the latest I found on Intel's website)

When I double click on my phone in bluetooth connected devices I see only

-Browse Remote Folder

-Send File

-Play music

-Synchronize PIM DATA

The phone I have is a xiaomi redmi note3 which works as expected with my old Dell laptop.

After this response :  it seems that I don't have the HSP profile.

Is there any way to enable it?

Thank you

Inspiron 13 5368 2-in-1 High Definition Audio Device in Device Manager - no available driver

The AUDIO FADE PROBLEM is an issue with this laptop and I am wondering if it is related to the above.

I have upgraded to the latest BIOS and drivers using the Dell Product Support pages.

Every other day I have to reinstall the Realtek Audio Device to get audio from streaming media.

The current Driver Version is 6.0.1.7908 from Realtek Semiconductor Corp. Date 12/08/2016 which is what it defaults to upon reinstall.

I suspect that for whatever reason Dell has not yet come up with a fix. Has it something to do with the fact that although I bought the laptop new, it had been upgraded from Windows 8 to 10? (A fact that I only discovered later)

XPS 13 9350 static noise

Hi,

I have been experiencing static noise on my 3.5mm port. It starts immediately after selecting what type of audio device I've plugged in. I've tested it with different headphones and can even hear the static noise when closely listening to the built-in speakers. It's not overpowering but annoying. I've updated the audio drivers and the bios.

Thanks for your help,

Alienware 17 R4 - Realtek device has disappeared

Today I was connected to the external Alienware Graphics Amplifier, when suddenly the screen went black and the fans on the external graphics card revved to full blast. I had to disconnect the cable and hard power down the laptop, and when it came back up, the computer was no longer detecting the internal Realtek Audio chip. I attempted to reinstall drivers, and when that didn't work, I performed a fresh install of the OS from Windows Installation Media, including formatting the boot drive and then installing Windows 10. I've installed the drivers, reset the CMOS, and inspected the BIOS for any settings relating to the sound chip but can find none.

Are there any tips on resolving this issue before I reach out to warranty support? I've had this computer less than a week and would like to try to get it resolved without waiting for someone to come out and replace the motherboard.

XPS 13 9360 Audio Lags, Power Management Issue?

$

I just purchased an XPS 13 9360 with the i5/8GB/256GB SSD configuration, running Windows 10 Pro.  The laptop is exhibiting an issue where if there are no sounds played for 30 or seconds or so, the next sound is delayed by about 2 seconds.  For example, when a UAC prompt appears, the sound will happen 2 seconds after the dialog box appears.  If there is already a sound playing (i.e. music in the background), then the sound will not be delayed. It seems like there is a power management issue and it takes the sound card a few seconds to "wake up" after a period of inactivity.  This also causes issues with certain web video players.

I have updated the BIOS to the latest 1.2.3 version, and also re-installed the audio driver using version 6.0.1.7989, A02 from the dell site. Any further suggestions on how to remedy this?

Thanks!

Dell Inspiron 3537 internal mic not working

When I listen to my internal mic on my laptop I cannot hear anything but scratching or tapping on the laptop next to the mic. Is this a driver problem or do most of these models have this issue? Also there is no mic input on this type of Inspiron I was wondering if there is a way of using cellphone headphones as a mic and headphones at the same time? Or do I have to get a usb microphone?
