Alright, I have spend about 3 years trying to resolve this problem and I have done so much research that I felt it would be a waste for me not to post something about it. 

After I owned two Dell laptops, the XPS13 and Alienware 17. Both having the same problems. I tried everything, I read through all of the forums and I tried everytthing these forums have suggested and at multiple occasions I ruined my laptop and had to format it. 

I also always had the full warrenty with Dell customer service and have replaced my xps13 TWICE and my Alienware once. This is of course after replacing the motherboard and the hard drive and spending endless hours over the phone with them while they update all my drivers and ensure my software is running correctly. They ran 100's of tests on my computer to see why this is happening and no one could ever solve this problem. 

However, after all this research with no solution in sight I thought of the problem logically. My alienware was running 16 gb of ram and 1 TB of HDD regular hard drive. I figured if I have so much ram to run anything I want, maybe it is having the regular hard drive that is not keeping up with the ram. Sure enough, when I went and bought the best SSD out there Samsung Pro 950 256 GB and installed it and used it as my operating system while the HDD ran as my storage. For the first time in 3 years and 4 computers... my pc was running with no jitterz or lagging or any issues! 

At the end of the day there was nothing wrong with my hard drive... it was just a matter of design. Dell did not think that having such a huge ram with such a *** hard drive would cause any problems other than slower boot up time ... but eh it's not such a big deal and can be used as a marketing advantage... when in reality it is like having a HUGE HEMI engine with a prius transmission... It is just not good enough.. both powers must match in capabilities.

My Dell Laptop
I have a dell laptop purchased a year a go and was working fine. All of the sudden, it started nosing, whistling like an alarm everytime reboot or restarts. I tried to solve this issue as much as i could, but the noise is still there. I reset my win 10 several times, i couldn't be solving this issue. Please advice how to overcome this problem.

Hi,

I am using a Latitude 3540 and trying to get a conference phone working through the Headphone port. The phone has a mic and speaker cable that go into an adaptor and then into the headphone port on the laptop. As soon as its connected the volume slowly decreases on its own.

We have tested the same setup but using a Lattitude E6330 and it works fine.

I hve fully updated all drivers.

Any ideas?

Hi!

From one day to the other, sound stopped working...

output of 'lspci | grep audio' is nothing

alsamixer output; 'cannot open mixer: No such file or directory'

I've tried cold rebooting twice, as well as checking the BIOS to see if audio was enabled (it was) and this has not helped.

Hi all,

as above - have just done a clean install of Windows 10 and can't install the Realtek Audio ALC3263 Driver from the dell driver download page.

The executable goes through the uninstall process, reboots, apparently installs some files, reboots, gives error: c:\windows\system32\intel_coinst.dll cannot be found, then keeps trying to install on a constant loop after rebooting again.

Appreciate any help.

I just  bought an a new 17 inch INSPIRON laptop. I plug in the HDMI cable connected to my TV and get a picture but the sound is awful   I really would like the audio to be passed from my laptop to the TV and use the sound system of the TV  But how do I do that

I just got an Inspiron 7579 and hooked it up to my existing monitor, which has a Dell AC511 Soundbar on it I can get sound out of the soundbar, but only using a generic Windows USB Driver. When I try to use the Waves Audio that was installed on the computer, I get a message that the device (soundbar) is not supported and I've tried to change the audio driver for the soundbar to the Realtek driver as it may be connected to the Waves software, and in the worst case I could use the Realtek EQ to make the soundbar sound a little better. Looking at the sound settings and Device Manager, I can't see a place to change the soundbar's driver. 

If anyone has a fix for this, I'm game to give it a try. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.

Whenever I wear earbuds and play audio from whatever, there is a very LOUD popping sound that occurs. Is there anything I can do to fix it.

I have the late 2014 edition Alienware 17 laptop with an i7-4700mq and gtx 765m. Not sure how else to tell which model i have.

Anyway, I am wondering if anyone could help me solve this headache once and for all, because after countless hours of reading forums, downloading drivers, etc, I am more than frustrated with this laptop. I have recently purchased a set of bluetooth headphones, and no matter what I do, my laptop cannot seem to detect them. I've tried reinstalling drivers and rolling back to the original drivers it shipped with, but nothing seems to work. The headphones are brand new, and connect within seconds to my iPhone. They also connect just fine to my cousins laptop, and work just as they should. Previously I had tried using my sound dock, but the laptop would pair and not be able to play any sound out of the dock. Funny enough my cousins 8 year old laptop that he spent 200 bucks on seems to connect and play music just fine.

I know this laptop is over 2 years old, but I've had this problem since I first got it, I just could not be bothered with it anymore, and after my previous experiences with customer service, I felt I was out of luck.

My bluetooth card is the Broadcomm BCM20702 Bluetooth 4.0 +HS USB Device

or Broadcom BCM4352 Wireless+BT 4.0 Driver.... I'm not sure exactly.

The headphones i am trying connect are the Sony MDR-XB950BT wireless bluetooth headphones.

Please if anyone could help me that would be much appreciated. I just want to enjoy this great laptop to the fullest, and listen to music on my new headphones.

New Inspiron 17" 7000 series

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 940mx 2GB GDDR

Occasionally (daily) video and sound will stutter, stop and go.   Happens with all my apps, Pandora, Youtube, Netflix.  Must reboot to clear.

Any ideas?

Okay so i am using the most updated version of audacity on a dell dell Optiplex 380 computer, i have all my microphones hooked up and speakers properly hooked up and defaulted BUT

When i am trying to record a stereo mix, the music waveform i opened to be the JUST the music to listen while recording over it is being recorded with my voice waveform. ANY HELP ???

I have a new XPS 9550 FHD laptop with all the latest drivers and updates applied.

It's working fine as far as I can tell, but Device Manager reports a missing driver for "Intel High Definition DSP".

What is this, do I need it and where can I find a driver please?

I brought this new laptop but sound the quality is bad. There seems to be flat and with no bass.  I fix some of the settings but its still bad. Is it just the laptop or the software.

Hello. I have a Dell Inspiron 3537 running the Windows 10 Anniversary updated version. I had it recently re-installed from Windows 8.1 due to a reset that caused corrupt boot OS for which I gave it to the Dell Service Center. I updated all my drivers including the audio driver but the Maxx Waves audio settings did not show up but it showed in the install wizard that it did get installed. I tried re-installing but it didn't work. Any suggestion would be very helpful.

I have a problem with the audio on my new Inspiron 13 Model 7359 that is similar to previous posts, but the solution posted did not work. The volume indicator is showing on my desktop at all times, not just when the volume is changed, and it is always muted.  If I change the volume, it immediately returns to mute.  Here is what the indicator looks like:

As you can see, I already downgraded to BIOS version 01.06.00, A05, as recommended in another post, but the problem still persists.  I am running the latest Conexant driver, but I have tried the previous version and it doesn't help.  Here is the driver info:

I upgraded the OS to Win 10 Pro from Win 10 Home and I don't recall the problem being there before the upgrade, but I may not have noticed it. 

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

hi

i have an alienware m17 and that does not have a firewire port.on the other hand i have a tascam 1884 that has firewire. please let me know if i can do something(no pci express port on sight) to plug the tascam in the alienware. thanks a lot!!
