I use Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930 and it has crackling issues, I thought by disabling onboard audio I may solve this problem as this headset uses it's own usb audio without any need for my laptop onboard audio. Thanks a lot in advance! :)

Audio Failure - HDMI Connection between laptop and TV
Hi,
I'm currently experiencing audio problems with my laptop (Dell XPS 15, Windows 7) when it's connected through HDMI to my (Alba) TV.
I've scoured the interney for a resolution, but none as of yet has succeeded in so much as showing, let alone rectifying the problem.
This is how it appears when i open my playback devices...
As you can see the TV is already set as default for sound, but over the past few days the TV has been silent when connected to my computer (volume is at 24, and i promise mute isn't on). I'm curious as to why the audio meter isn't shown in the right hand side of the TV (as is usually the case), but suspect this is merely a symptom of the problem.
Troubleshooting hasn't helped show what's exactly wrong either...
Since my TV is set as the default device, and should be recognised as an audio device surely? (BTW playback devices also won't allow me to set my speakers to default while my TV is connected)
By checking my NVIDIA control panel, the connection seems to be fine...
I thought it might be something wrong with the TV, but i tried it on another (with a different HDMI lead also) and experienced the same problem.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling my NVIDIA High definition audio, and backward *** from any recent updates that may have caused it. Have also tried a system recovery. Just as helpful (/unhelpful).
Im starting to suspect that it may be a problem with my laptops hardware, but i'm unsure why that would be the case.
I'm unfamiliar with these problems, and a comparative computer novice and may be slipping up on something horrendously obvious. But hours of searching on the internet to find a solution hasn't made me any the wiser as to why my TV's don't seem to be playing sound when connected through HDMI to my laptop.
Any help would be massively appreciated.

Inspiron 1564 and Sound 5.1 problem

I found that my Inspiron 1564 has 5.1 Soundcard (pls correct me if m wrong) but the jack is 2.1mm (for headphone only)
How can I connect the laptop with 5.1 speakers system?

Latitude E5420 headphone/microphone combo jack pinout?
Hi All,
My headset has separate headphone and microphone connectors but my Latitude E5420 came with a single headphone/microphone combo jack. I've read on this forum that adapters like the Headset Buddy should solve the problem, but I haven't been able to source any locally for testing before purchase.
I'm planning to make up my own adapter but haven't been unable to find any Dell documentation on that combo jack, let alone its pinout. Can you guys help me out with that, please?

Failed jack sensor XPS 17 (L702x)
Hello everyone,
My SPDIF jack now shows as always plugged in within the Dell Audio by Realtek app so I now have no sound to my speakers. Is there a fix or a way to disable this jack so that I can hear audio on my speakers or do I have to replace the I/O board. And I'm pretty sure it's a damaged sensor as I picked up my laptop and started walking away from my stereo, forgetting that I had my laptop plugged into it.
The software workaround for the AC97 does not work for my laptop.
I've got to say I'm not a fan of this over simplified software. If only I could manually disable this jack...

D420 Windows XP sp3 no audio
Hi Everyone,
I have a Dell D420 laptop and I installed a fresh copy of Windows XP SP3 on it and everything installed fine, but I can only get sound from the headphone jack and not the speaker. I did run Dell diagnostic utility and the speaker worked fine in there, so I know its Windows related, but I can not figure it out for anything. I installed the NSS System software, then Intel chipset and then the Sigmatel audio software and still nothing. If anyone could help me I sure would appreciate it.

no sound when using HDMI in mode
I have my PS3 hooked up to my Alienware M18x using the HDMI in port on the laptop but can not get any sound through the laptop. Can anyone explain to me how to fix this problem so I can play the new God Of War game I just got.

Dell Inspiron 15R: Line-in not working
Hi,
I have bought an adapter with a 4-segment jack, as advised in:

It works well when I plug in an external microphone through the adapter.
However, it does not work when I plug in a mini-jack-to-mini-jack cable throught it.
One end of the cable is plugged in to the adapter, the other end is plugged in to a pre-amp that I plug in my guitar to.
In such setting, the laptop's built-in mic is still active and the sound from the pre-amp is not recorded via line-in.
So, to make things clearer, this works:
external microphone -> adapter -> laptop mini-jack socket
and this does not:
guitar -> pre-amp -> adapter -> laptop mini-jack socket
The pre-amp can be connected using it's "Main out R" or "Main out L" channels or the "Phones out" channel.
Neither of them work.
I guess the question boils down to:
How can I connect and record any line-in input on this laptop?

l702x, how do I get maxx waves audio or x-fi soundblaster to affect hdmi?
Sometimes I use my laptop to connect to a television via hdmi to watch movies. But while connected via hdmi, EQ changes via maxxaudio and x-fi do nothing. They only seem to affect speakers which are connected directly to the computer through a jack. How can I get these EQ settings to transfer to my hdmi destination AKA my television speakers? Can I?

Inspiron N5050 Audio out of sync
Past few weeks, I haven't been able to watch any video in the computer(only ones I have downloaded or gotten from another source, all streaming videos like youtube, etc play fine) because the audio is slightly out of sync. I have tried using multiples media player, installing different codecs, updating all types of drivers available to no avail.
Even if I for example, use vlc shortcuts to try sync the audio with the video, it goes out of sync again. I have done 2 factory image reset/recovery so far but haven't been able to fix the problem. Any suggestions?

No Headphone option coming in Sound setting
Hi,
When I am opening sound settings by typing "sound" in the search option,a prompt is coming with the following tab "Playback", "Recording" etc.
In "Playback" tab the option of "COMMUNICATION HEADPHONES" is not showing. only the speaker is showing.
For this, I am unable to use skype as the microphone option is not working there.
I am using DELL LATITUDE E5420 mode and windows 7 OS.
Kindly suggest, what to do for the same.

no maxxaudio 4 after clean windows install
after clean windows 7 install on inspiron n7720 dell audio/maxx audio 4 application is no longer availiable. i installed all dell drivers and software and still no dell audio feature. is there anywhere i can download the maxxaudio 4 software ???? i have scoured the dell web site to no avail.

xps m1330 Sound Solved
Finally found driver that will work with Win 8 on the notebook. It's R218148. No help from Dell however as this is not listed as a driver for my pc when I put my service tag in. In fact, I don't even see a Win 8 OS as a choice.
After much experimentation I landed on the solution.

Bluetooth headset connects but no sound is heard
Hello, I am using a XPS 15 L502X. I am having a weird issue related to the bluetooth headset. I am able to pair and connect it to my windows 7 OS but I am not able to hear any sound even after I set it as the default device. Even the test sound cannot be heard but I can see the sound meter jumping up and down(implying that sound is being played). I am sure that my headset is not broken because I can hear it cleary in my ubuntu OS. This is the first time I am having this problem and I have previously used it on my windows 7. Any help would be appreciated :)

15R 7520SE missing Dell Audio after clean OS install
I've reinstalled Windows 8 on a new HDD and installed all related software/drivers from support.dell.com. The system tray icon for Dell Audio is not present and pressing the hardware key to cycle through different audio modes does nothing.
Where can I locate the driver/software package for the 7520SE?

Dell laptop rejecting my password
I turned my computer on this morning (XPS M1330), it started updating automatically with updates and then would not accept my password. It gives the error message, " the user profile service failed the login." I do not have any software so I can reset the password, as I bought the computer from my brother about 2 years ago. What can I do? It doesn't seem right that the computer did these updates and is now rejecting my password with no solutions on how to change it beyond having the software.any help would be appreciated - thank you!
